About the PTZ-35/50-MS

Formerly the Security-HD, The PTZ-50MS and PTZ-35MS are low cost, high-resolution multi-sensor camera systems designed specifically for the security market.

These small, pan/tilt systems feature a color Sony block TV camera and your choice of powerful thermal cameras, with either 35mm or 50mm lens. Also, the thermal cameras provide a 2X e-zoom regardless of your choice in lens configuration.

Both systems can be configured for portable or point-to-point use, and are compatible with Pelco D, RS-232, and RS422 and Nexus communications. They are perfect for security and surveillance applications that demand compact size and rugged performance. The PTZ-50MS can detect a man-sized threat beyond 3,000 feet.

In-Depth Look at the PTZ-35/50-MS

High sensitivity, long wave thermal imager:
See sharp imagery through total darkness, smoke, fog, and most obscurants

Daylight TV with 25x optical zoom:
Powerful zoom TV with electronic stabilization facilitates daytime use for medium range identification

Compact pan/tilt system:
At less than 10 lb. and at 9" tall the PTZ-35 MS and the PTZ-50 MS are easy to carry and mount. Ideal for infrared border patrol, homeland security, and law enforcement.

The Johnson Criteria assumes that the critical dimension for a human being is 0.75 meters. To get DRI, you need 1.5 pixels, 6 pixels and 12 pixels across 0.75 meters in the object pane. That means:

Detection
1.5 pixels / 0.75m = 2 pixels per meter
Recognition
6 pixels / 0.75m = 8 pixels per meter
Identification
12 pixels / 0.75m = 16 pixels per meter

Assuming that a man is 1.83m by 0.5m, the following would apply:

Human Detection
Detection
3.6 pixels by 1 pixel
(You can see something
is there)
Human Recognition
Recognition
13 pixels by 5 pixels
(You can see that a
person is there)
Human Identification
