About the D-Series
The powerful D-6 and D-19 indoor thermal dome cameras compliment and complete your indoor security camera network. They turn night into day, letting you see through smoke and in total darkness.
These thermal dome cameras come with either a 6mm or 19mm lens to meet your range performance requirements. D-series cameras are Pelco D compatible for easy installation into existing networks.
The D-Series thermal imaging systems start with the D-6 (6mm lens, 52°(H) x 40°(V), 160x120 resolution) at $2,999.00, and the D-19 (19mm lens, 36°(H) x 27°(V), 320x240 resolution) at $4,299.00. Please feel free to contact a sales representative for more information.

When the lights go out, or smoke renders conventional CCTV cameras useless, D-Series
cameras still see clearly.

The Johnson Criteria assumes that the critical dimension for a human being is 0.75 meters. To get DRI, you need 1.5 pixels, 6 pixels and 12 pixels across 0.75 meters in the object pane. That means:
|
Detection |
|
1.5 pixels / 0.75m = 2 pixels per meter |
|
Recognition |
|
6 pixels / 0.75m = 8 pixels per meter |
|
Identification |
|
12 pixels / 0.75m = 16 pixels per meter |
|
Assuming that a man is 1.83m by 0.5m, the following would apply:

3.6 pixels by 1 pixel
(You can see something
is there) |

13 pixels by 5 pixels
(You can see that a
person is there) |

28.8 pixels by 8 pixels
(You can see that the
person looks like a soldier) |

Assuming that a vehicle is 4m by 1.5m, the following would apply:
2.8 pixels by 1 pixel
(You can see something
is there) |
13 pixels by 5 pixels

vehicle is there) |
26 pixels by 10 pixels
(You can see that the

4.5 pixels by 1 pixel
(You can see something
is there) |
18 pixels by 2 pixels
(You can see that a
boat of some kind is there) |
36 pixels by 4 pixels

is a small Inflatable Boat) |
