The FLIR Sentry II
provides
24-hour, continuous surveillance as either a mobile or fixed-site
installation surveillance camera system.
The Sentry II is a compact,
durable, multisensor infrared system that operates with low power consumption
and includes FLIR’s leading microbolometer uncooled detector
technology and daylight TV zoom camera. Night vision will never compare to the power of thermography in FLIR's thermal cameras.
Commercially Developed, Military Qualified (CDM)
Developed under the U.S. Air Force TASS (Tactical Automated Security
System) program, Sentry II delivers optimum surveillance in all
weather conditions including rain, snow, fog, and extreme heat and
cold. As a military-qualified, commercially off-the-shelf
(COTS) product, Sentry II is sealed to protect against sand, dust,
and corrosion. Sentry II includes a new dual field-of-view thermal
imager that allows operators to see at longer distances with a
5 degree narrow field of view, recognize more detail, and react
quicker to security threats. People and vehicles appear
as high-contrast targets against the background, even when hidden in
darkened areas. This can also be applied to homeland security and is perfect for border patrol applications.
Flexible System Architectures and Deployment Options
Choose from the widest range of system deployments available:
Standalone single system operation using the standard Joystick
Control Unit (JCU); embedded menu selectable serial command protocol
support for TASS ICD 001, Pelco-D; and standard FLIR 5XO. Sentry II
is fully backwards compatible with all existing Sentry 1 and WSTI
system configurations.
Video Over IP Capability
Sentry II has an optional, fully integrated internal ThermoVision
Nexus System Architecture, enabling connectivity to emerging IP
based standards and system architectures. The built-in ThermoVision
Nexus option provides two streaming MPEG video outputs and full
function remote control over the network connection.
Dual FOV optics, Continuous 360° Slewing
Dual fields of view provide operators with FLIR’s Layered
Situational Awareness (LSA) capability for improved visual threat
assessment. Electronic zoom, freeze frame, and image processing
enhances target recognition assessment. Histogram equalization
ensures optimal image quality, and selectable color palettes enhance
target discrimination. An integrated pan/tilt drive provides
variable speed, continuous 360° slewing. A stowed position
capability encloses the lens and protects sensitive optics when the
camera is not being utilized. The system quickly starts up from
“sleep” mode and is ready for immediate use.
